EASY-RAIL 1.33

The behaviour of EASY-RAIL 1.33 is similar to that of the common single guardrail (ESP). However, EASY-RAIL has achieved a test result of N2-W2 as well as H1-W3 at an ASI of category A! Through the optimal interaction of steel quality, direction-optimized posts and a downward-bent barrier beam, EASY-RAIL outperforms the values of other standard systems within the performance levels up to H1 which are also heavier (i.e. more expensive!).

EASY-RAIL 1.33 = Containment Level: N2, Working Width: W2, Acceleration Severity Level (ASI): A
EASY-RAIL 1.33 = Containment Level: H1, Working Width: W3, Acceleration Severity Level (ASI): A

The System
The idea of EASY-RAIL 1.33 is based on the task of developing a low weight and simple to install single guardrail system with a better performance than the known single spaced guardrail systems on H1 level. The most important modification is the improved support bracket which gives the guardrail beam an optimized position to redirect impacting trucks up to 10 tons.

Places of Installation
The system has been tested for containment level N2 with a working width of W2 and an ASI of category A. Due to the fact that the N2 version of the system has a very small working width of W2, it is especially suitable for installation next to narrow shoulders as well as next to danger spots close to the road (e.g. trees, lamp posts, pillars etc.). The H1 version with a working width of W3 and an Acceleration Severity Index (ASI) of A is especially installed as replacement for common single spaced guardrails (EDSP) due to its smaller construction width, better working width and lower weight.
